Simplifying investment journeys through thoughtful product strategy
iFonduri is a fintech initiative focused on making investment opportunities more accessible to individuals in Romania. The vision was to create a digital platform that enables users to explore and invest in financial products in a clear, structured, and compliant way.
The client was looking for a long term technology partner who could not only build the product but also support strategic decisions around growth, communication, and positioning. Rather than hiring separate vendors for development and marketing, they needed one team capable of delivering both product and go to market execution. From the beginning, the relationship was set up as an ongoing partnership, not a one time delivery project.
Shaping a brand experience that earns trust from first glance to first tap
The client faced a combination of business and product challenges. There was no existing digital platform ready for public launch, and the investment process needed to be translated into a clear online experience that met regulatory expectations while remaining understandable for everyday users, especially since fintech onboarding can quickly become complex when identity verification, AML checks, and risk assessments are involved.
The platform also had to comply with local and international financial regulations, including proper customer identification, handling of politically exposed persons, enhanced due diligence where required, and secure data processing. Without a solid KYC and compliance foundation, the business could not operate confidently, and in a competitive market where trust is a key decision factor, the product had to communicate credibility from the first interaction.
In short, the client needed a stable and secure web application, a structured onboarding flow aligned with financial regulations, a fully integrated KYC and compliance process, a user experience that supports confidence and understanding, and a marketing foundation to attract and educate new users.
Designing every detail, from facial recognition to fund insights
We designed and developed the iFonduri web application from the ground up using Vue on the frontend and Laravel on the backend, integrating our own product Insyko to provide a structured KYC process and regulatory compliance framework. The UX focused on simplifying complex financial and regulatory processes without weakening compliance standards, mapping the full user journey from first visit to verified account activation.
The onboarding flow was structured into clear steps that seamlessly incorporate the Insyko KYC process, embedding identity verification, personal data collection, and AML-related questions directly into the journey, with conditional logic triggering additional checks (enhanced due diligence or PEP validation) only when necessary to reduce friction for standard users while maintaining full regulatory coverage. We implemented compliance-driven risk profiling and regulatory questionnaires with dynamic validation so users see only relevant questions, shortening completion time and minimizing confusion, while storing and processing all responses in line with compliance requirements. After verification, users access a structured dashboard to review profile status, investment options, and documentation, emphasizing clarity and traceability; development ran in iterative cycles with internal testing refining form behavior, validation messages, KYC edge cases, and microcopy around regulatory terminology for clarity without oversimplification.
The platform architecture was built with Vue and Laravel to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability: Vue supports a responsive interface for multi-step onboarding and real-time validation, while Laravel handles backend logic, secure API endpoints, and integration with Insyko’s KYC and compliance services. Insyko enables centralized identity checks, AML verification, PEP screening, and related regulatory controls, reducing the need for fragmented third-party integrations and ensuring a consistent compliance framework, supported by code standards, structured version control, and clear API contracts for long-term evolution. In parallel, we supported launch and growth through landing page updates, newsletter setup, webinar infrastructure, and PPC maintenance, reflecting compliance readiness and security features in communication materials to strengthen user trust, ensuring compliance, usability, and user acquisition progressed together.
We created a modern design system that conveys confidence
The result is a live, regulation-ready investing platform tailored to the Romanian market. iFonduri now has a fully integrated KYC and compliance framework through Insyko, a structured onboarding experience that balances regulatory requirements with usability, reduced friction for standard users with controlled escalation for higher risk profiles, and a consistent product experience that communicates trust and reliability.
The platform is supported by a technical architecture prepared for further regulatory and feature expansion, alongside coordinated marketing efforts aligned with the product’s compliance capabilities. Qualitative feedback indicates that users better understand the registration process and feel more confident completing identity verification.
From a business standpoint, iFonduri now operates with a clear compliance backbone and a scalable product foundation. By combining product development, regulatory integration, and marketing execution, we helped iFonduri move from concept to a functioning fintech platform capable of operating in a regulated environment with confidence.
